Gallery: Nokia E7 blue – How external slots should work.

September 19, 2010 12 comments

One of the things I DIDN’t like about the Nokia N8 was that fiddly SIM and memory card door. Perhaps with time you get used to how to open it, and yes it is quite secure and flush with the device – but it is a little bit of a pain to open. The SIM you may open less unless you’re frequently swapping between devices, but memory card you may be popping out for card reader transfers.

Anyway, on the Nokia E7, you’ll notice a different implementation. One it does NOT have a memory card slot. But if it did, I would like to see something similar to the SIM tray where it effortly slides out WHILST being secure. Perhaps in future make it so it isn’t somehow completely detachable from the device as I can sort of forsee this disappearing and getting lost foro some people.

It is understandable that space is a contraint, but when you compromise so much that you affect functionality (i.e. making card doors so hard to open people don’t use it) then you’ve sort of failed in the design, no?

As well as that, here’s another Nokia E7 gallery. This time, a blue one without that tether stuck to the back.

Mega Gallery: Live photos of the Nokia C7 frosty metal (white/silver), charcoal black and mahogany brown (and C7 product managers).

Here’s a gallery of basically the white, black and brown C7. Above photo are the product managers for the C7 who were very helpful in demoing the device (there’s another C7 post coming up with a feature that surprised me, but that’s another time).

C7 felt great in the hand. The white C7 was a bit too shiny for me but it did look really nice. The screen was great and very responsive with the handset itself feeling built like a tank. The shell is pretty much all stainless steel except the end cap for the antenna (it is afterall a phone which needs to make calls/text/data connection).

Anyway, here’s the gallery.

More N8 camera samples? (Full 12mp 4000×3000)

Over in the mobile-review forums I stumbled across a post by a user named quagmire (giggity! :-P) who posted a few links to photos on flickr that were shot with the Nokia N8 (supposedly).

Although I’ll remain a skeptic ( ’til I have the N8 in my own hands!!) , the pictures that were linked are from the same user who posted a number of other N8 sample pictures a few weeks back. Below is a small gallery of the pictures taken and a link to the flickr user’s page.

[Update by Jay. These are Nokia N8 photos as marked by flickr. We’ve previously covered apyykko‘s photos in another post a couple of weeks ago.

Biggest Nokia N8 Gallery Ever: Blue N8 Overload ^_^

To make up for the fact that the Blue Nokia N8 has been the least snapped out of all the Nokia N8 colours, @BenSmith from The Really Mobile Project has uploaded the biggest Nokia N8 gallery thus far, with a whopping 115 photos in the set on FLICKR !

My fav snaps are below. Check out all the flickr thumbnails – mesmerising!

Ahh just look at all the flickr thumbnails! It’s gorgeous!

New Gallery: Nokia N8 Green

June 10, 2010 2 comments

Cambo has found a Nokia N8 Green Gallery from zol.com.cn.

Take note that this is a C0 Nokia N8 and shows the different positioning of the wrist strap hole that we saw between C0 and N8 branded Nokia N8.

In some angles it sort of looks like a  vibrant GOLD. This and the silver N8 are the only ones I’ve seen in person (the former being N8 branded).

What’s good to see is the colour matching between the caps and main aluminium body (may be due to better photo quality as it’s still C0)

Ah, I want one now! But in Blue or Black please!
