One man Barbershop vocal group daniscool99 has entered the N8Producers competition (To win a zero gravity flight experience!) with his own arrangement of “I’ll be seeing you”. Filmed four separate times with four separate singing parts, it all combines into a quartet Acapella.
The video certainly looks great, one of the clearest Dan has uploaded. I’m not sure what he used to record the audio though since there’s a big ass microphone there. Although it is possible to hook up microphones to the N8. Would have been nice just to demonstrate the stellar audio recording capabilities of the N8.
I wish more YouTube vlogger folk got an N8 and were made aware of this competition.
The first two are very, very blurry but the third by Camb078 from blog-n8.fr is a little clearer.
You can get this from gameloft OR the easier route from Ovi Store. My bills have increased as it’s just too easy to purchase stuff from there :p. You WILL need to download this via WiFi as it is HUUGE! 168MB, much bigger than Avatar.
It’s priced at 3GBP or som how 3EUR. Apparently some of you are seeing these priced at 2.5CAD. Hmm…I’d like some price unity.
It supports multitouch controls and is in full 3D.
The 12MP Symbian Flagship, has apparently reached 4 million sales. I don’t know how accurate these figures are. The last time Nokia numbers were publicised, they were wrong (N900 selling only 100,000 when that was the figure in a few weeks – a geek “niche” device for tinkering, not for the masses which Nokia claims the N9 should be).
Anyway, from BloomBerg:
Dec. 29 (Bloomberg) — Nokia Oyj, the world’s biggest maker of mobile phones, may have delivered as many as 4 million of its N8 smartphones this quarter, Helsinki-based equity research company Inderes Oy said on its website today.
Inderes cited guidance given by chip makers, N8 search volumes on Internet search engines, additional recruitment at Nokia’s Finnish factory in Salo and media attention to the phone.
. What do you think of 4 million? I think that’s pretty decent response about a new Symbian handset.
Although we’ve heard about the N8 since early Jan of this year and officially late April, the N8 has only really been on sale from Mid October Read more…
So my new laptop arrived and I’m reinstalling XP on my old XPS to give to my parents.
What with the mass of manuals for the Christmas gadgets, I thought I somehow came across something for the Nokia N8 as it had a picture on the N8 on it. But it’s not from Nokia.
It’s my Microsoft XP Media Centre installation document. Look at it – some predicted tech specs 😛
- Digital Camcorder
- (Dolby) Digital 5.1 Surround System
- Movie player
- Can hook it up to TV (via tv OUT and HDMI)
- The tower center kinda looks like it has touch screen :p Check out the floppy space action going on there.
Haha. What with the recent chatter of Microsoft-Nokia collaborations, I found this mildly amusing. Where else have you seen N8-esque designs? i.e. rectangle with swooping, tapering curves with another curvy rectangle inside.
A few days ago we saw that Spider-Man: Total Mayhem was available for Symbian^3 devices like the Nokia N8.
However, with no video demo, I wasn’t sure what it actually looked like given the small download size stated from Gameloft’s site. However those sizes were similar with other hugely entertaining and visually blessed games, like Avatar.
I hoped it would be like the iOS version and you’ll be pleased to hear it is, as is multitouch (which isn’t always guaranteed – e.g. SIMS 3 and Galaxy on Fire). Some of you also addressed concerns on whether it’s good enough for your money? What do you reckon?
In this video demo TheRacerex shows us how to Sync Gmail Calendar and Contacts on Symbian^3 devices like the Nokia N8, as well as the different ways that you can access your GMAIL email on the N8.
For Calendar Sync: Settings>Phone>Mail>Mail for Exchange and pop in your details. Email, Password, put user name as the email and then MfE server as m.gogle.com. I can’t seem to get calendar to Sync. A long route to get your gmail info is to export from gmail and import into ovi calendar (and sync via ovi Calendar).
Alternatively there’s an app called rainlendar that actually does show calendar syncing
This is some behind the scenes footage of N8 producers skit: Rock Climbing in Finland. What an absolutely beautiful country. It’s like every angle deserves to be a desktop wallpaper :p.
Check out the contraptions they’ve got for the N8. There’s a shoulder rig to have some steady panning, and at another point, you’ll see the N8 flying on a freaking balloon for goodness sake!
I’m not sure what this behind the scenes video is filmed with – could this 720p stunner also be from Nokia N8 (I’m watching in 480p – thanks Tmob – and it still looks awesome).
Check out the entrants showcase, and upload your own for a chance to win a Zero Gravity Flight Experience 🙂
