The first two are very, very blurry but the third by Camb078 from blog-n8.fr is a little clearer.
You can get this from gameloft OR the easier route from Ovi Store. My bills have increased as it’s just too easy to purchase stuff from there :p. You WILL need to download this via WiFi as it is HUUGE! 168MB, much bigger than Avatar.
It’s priced at 3GBP or som how 3EUR. Apparently some of you are seeing these priced at 2.5CAD. Hmm…I’d like some price unity.
It supports multitouch controls and is in full 3D.
A few days ago we saw that Spider-Man: Total Mayhem was available for Symbian^3 devices like the Nokia N8.
However, with no video demo, I wasn’t sure what it actually looked like given the small download size stated from Gameloft’s site. However those sizes were similar with other hugely entertaining and visually blessed games, like Avatar.
I hoped it would be like the iOS version and you’ll be pleased to hear it is, as is multitouch (which isn’t always guaranteed – e.g. SIMS 3 and Galaxy on Fire). Some of you also addressed concerns on whether it’s good enough for your money? What do you reckon?
It’s not yet on Ovi Store but it is on GameLoft’s site from your device.
I got there via wapshop.gameloft.com and a specific T-Mobile link. It may be different with your particular network (you’ll have to chose or the site will automatically direct you).
I haven’t played it yet so I don’t know what it would look like on N8. I’m not sure if it will be like the iPhone version (like most of gamelofts offerings have been for Symbian^3) as the download is only 3MB (though it is titled HD like their other 3D games). No wait, wait…., I just checked – Real football 2010 HD is 1.25MB and avatar is 0.70MB which I know is HUGE (Over 100MB download).
I want to wait till it appears on Ovi Store – I don’t know how gameloft purchasing/redownload works. But you can get it now if you want from Gameloft for £3.00
The UN has intervened between the Angry Birds and the Pigs. In return for the eggs, the pigs will be protected from aerial attacks. This is a momentous occasion for Birds and Pigs everywhere. Or is it?
This comes from Israel’s most popular comedy show, “Eretz Nehederet” and the sketch is of course based on the popular cross platform game by Rovio (and forever championed by Nokia and Ovi), Angry Birds which you can download from the Ovi Store
- Angry Birds for N900
- Angry Birds lite for S^3 (N8, C6-01, C7, E7)
- Angry Birds S^3 (N8, C6-01, C7, E7)
Video:10 minute S^3 casual game demos on Nokia N8 – Cannon Ball, Miluegg Jump, The Roach Game and Down The Fly 2
Here’s a 10 minute medley demo video of some casual games for Symbian^3 by FUNCASTorg (I think some are/have S60 5th versions, like Roach game).
- Cannon Ball
- Miluegg Jump (free at Ovi Store)
- Roach Game
- Down The Fly 2
It’s a great demo video as you’re given a run through of what you need to do for each game and general opinions for each game and the game play. It’s in 720p HD so it’s worth upping the res (if that’s not your default) to see the games better)
Here’s a look at the three versions of Angry Birds on the Nokia N8, iPhone 4, and Nexus One
Basically all versions are excellent. The android and N8 versions are beta and lite versions so dont have all the levels yet – the N8 (symbian ^3) version will add levels via in app purchase i believe. Making it more expensive than the current 59p iOS version. Though i believe in app purchase for new levels and mighty eagle will be coming to the iOS version too, which now supports game centre.

Four months ago we found out that a bunch of really cool EA games were coming to the Nokia N8 in full 3D.
One of the least demonstrated is the Sims 3 – (the first iteration, Sims 1 was the best selling PC game of all time).
Unlike the S60 5th Edition version, Sims 3 for S^3 is in full 3D, pretty much nigh on the same as the PC version.
