Wow! Nokia N8 Rockchip Dual Core ARM 9 with Android 2.1 and 800X480 display. More than your ordinary China clone!

December 12, 2010 14 comments

Last month we saw a Nokia N8 Clone sporting an Android Clone UI. Not really Android, just a skin that made it appear to look like Android.

Well, back in August a picture of a Nokia N8 Clone was found, complete with Android 2.1 and Android buttons.

More details surface from Yesky that says this is a dual core ARM 9?!

  • Alloy Case
  • 3.5″ Resistive (bright and clear)
  • 800×480
  • Android 2.1 with back, menu, home page, search buttons
  • 115 × 60 × 14mm (real N8 113.5 x 59 x 12.9 mm)
  • Rockchip ARM 9 (Not A9!) Dual Core 600MHz + DSP 500MHz (Real Nokia N8 ARM 11, 680MHz with Broadcom GPU)
  • Smooth 720p playback apparently
  • 128MB RAM << erm what?
  • 256MB ROM
  • 5.0 MP Camera Dual LED
  • Headphone Jack
  • MicroSD up to 32GB
  • WiFi
  • A-GPS
  • Gravity-sensor
  • Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR with A2DP stereo headset profiles
  • 1400mAh battery, good for 2 days use supposedly (not sure if it’s replaceable)

Well, that’s not your typical knock off bargain basement dual-SIM fanfare that we’re used to. Not sure what the price is.

Video: Nokia N8 with iPhone OS – China Clone

November 21, 2010 1 comment

We’ve seen the Android Nokia N8 China clone. Now check out iOS Nokia N8. Of course that’s neither iOS or the Nokia N8 but rip off versions. Oddly, the face of the N8 has TWO buttons which was seen in an extremely early proto N8 version.

What’s left? Just WebOS and WP7. No one cares about Bada and no one really knows what MeeGo phone final is going to look like.

Video: Nokia N8 Mini (China Clone) same height as N95

November 13, 2010 6 comments

Here’s another China Clone of the Nokia N8, (check out the Android N8) and it’s the same size as the Nokia N95 when closed. That’s possibly 4/5ths the size of the original

Unlike the other China Clone this morning, this one runs a Symbian knock off and not Android.

Video: Nokia N8 with ‘Android’ from your friendly neighbourhood N8 China Clone (Unboxing vid)

November 13, 2010 3 comments

We’ve seen the China Clone N8 in many places, even before the actual official N8. Here’s the retail version of the N8 China Clone, set with die-quick replaceable battery. You’ll note that this N8 attempts to replicate an earlier build where the bottom of the N8 has now changed (wrist strap and pin-charger location moved). Camera here of course is a P.O.S.

What’s really interesting is that the OS/UI this clone tries to imitate is not Symbian but Android – at least HTC’s Sense UI.

This maybe the closest folk will come to in terms of the N8 with Android. (Nokia’s with android already done, either with UI shell or the complete Android Froyo 2.2 as seen in the N900). BTW it’s got a TV – I think like most clones standard terrestrial. Would have been a nice feature in the UK were we not doing/done the whole digital switch over thing.

Gallery: Nokia RM-626/E7/”N9″/N8-02/N98/N8 QWERTY China Clone (and another video)

July 13, 2010 4 comments

This morning we saw a video of a Nokia N98/E7/”N9″/N8-02 aka N8 with QWERTY clone.

Another video popped up and along with that, a gallery of RM-626 clone.

For 140USD you get:

You might as well get yourself a Nokia 5530 (£79.99 on pay and go brand new)

Red and Green buttons, 3 row keyboard, 3" screen, thicker, wrong menu button placement, general wrong button/ports/sensor placements. Interally, so much crap too.

versus real RM-626 – ridiculously slim, 4 row, 4″ screen 16:9, 4 row keyboard, menu button in middle.

The RM-626 still does not have an official name (originally called N98, later N9, but also E7 and N8-02) and now there is a clone. The demo girl calls it the Nokia N98, showing off the Nseries branding (the series let alone the name is debatable in the RM-626)

This is your usual dual-sim variety, coming with 2 batteries, (because each die in 30 minutes) and looking radically obese in comparison to the fantastically slim real RM-626. Amongst the list of superficial changes (smaller screen, colour scheme, overall design, camera, removable fake BL-4D), the main one is the 3 row (N97 mini keyboard) vs the newer 4-row keyboard (with spacebar in the middle). As for the software, it attempts to clone the fever inducing S60 5th edition.

The site watermarked in the video doesn’t seem to actually list this handset.

YouTube advertising counterfit Nokia N900 (Clones!) Fake N900 unboxing?!

January 26, 2010 2 comments

I was reading a question comment on one of mynokiablog’s YouTube videos when I noticed an advert for the N900 underneath the video. But it wasn’t any ordinary N900. It was a fake dual sim knock off. It’s quite an accurate copy of the N900, I mean, it least the slide is sideways, unlike this dual slider n900: << click.

What’s even more disturbing is that it runs (what attempts to look like) “S60”. On the “N900”? *Shudders* Click to see Clone N900 unboxed pics

Nokia N900 Clone

September 1, 2009 6 comments

Can’t wait for the official release of the Nokia N900 Maemo 5 SuperPhone? Not going to Nokia World but need to get your paws on a N900 now?

Here’s a Dual sliding clone of the N900. Features your generic clone capabilities – dual sim, TV, VGA cam, accelerometer, 3″ touch screen etc and for 127USD (pretty cheap – but as always with these clones you get exactly what you pay for)

The clone UI still attempts to mimic S60 though.

Photos: The Nokia Swivel QWERTY phone – The E81? (clone) Nokia 7705 Twist

August 16, 2009 6 comments

ESWIVBack in April, there were some rumours on an upcoming E-series swivel phone with QWERTY. The image on the left was a of a mock-up based on BGR sources’ first hand impression.

Hideous was the first word to pop into my mind. Next were horrendous monstrosity. But then again, it is just a mock-up. The actual leaked photos of the Nokia N900/Rover/RX-51 looked completely different and utterly beautiful compared to Mobile Crunch’s render (when closed anyway). Was there hope for the same in this swivel QWERTY?

All we could do was wait for Nokia to announce it or leak some pics.

Well, Chinese knock-offs have got there first. We shouldn’t be surprised in clones appearing before the original even had confirmation of existing – the same people that brought us the NokLa E97 (simply based on a concept design by Fabien Nauroy) has produced the NokLa E81.

Admittedly, this 90 degree QWERTY swivel phone doesn’t look half bad. It’s petite and quite feminine looking, especially with that mirror thing going on. Plus the owner could probably wear it as a necklace (just put a chain through the swivel hole), not to mention that there’s something girly about being a swivel form factor (ha, or maybe it’s just because the last swivel was the effeminate 7373?)

UPDATE 24-08-09: This maybe the Nokia 7705 – Check out more details via The Nokia Blog or BGR

The actual swivel qwerty from Nokia is rumoured to running only S40.

Clones: Nokla E97i and sexy keyboard design

July 17, 2009 8 comments

I’m not sure if this is meant to be a Nokia N97 clone (sometimes there’s some radical changes ) or they’ve gotten wind of a new Nokia and have already cloned it but here’s nokLa with their E97i (Priced at $139).

Thanks to lladd for the heads up. This is, as I’ve forgotten, a concept phone by Fabien:

This is a rip off the the concept phone that some designer made and won a competition for…the concept from this guy looks beautiful! see here:

Lets hope Nokia actually make it!!!

It’s pretty much a fugly thing except for the keyboard section. I don’t entirely understand the placement of the D-Pad or the keys themselves (not in QWERTY arrangement) but the aesthetics is quite beautiful, and looks as if it would be pretty nice to type on. Shame they’ve integrated the numbers row with the top set of letters, especially since they’ve got oodles of space to play around with. (update: This makes sense though in the concept device which uses the space above the keyboard as an additional display)

I’m not entirely sure how the hinge works either. It looks like a floppy piece of material connects the two but it may be clamshell. The photo directly below looks like the hinge will break if you so much as look at it. I think it may be entirely detachable.

[Below] the thicker part is actually the screen.

Tech Specs – as for your usual clone:
