Tweets Sent from Nokia N9 and Nokia N9 Widget?

This is from @davidgilson's Gravity app taking a screenshot of @SimonLR's tweets.

I don’t know what this is about but Adnan sent in a screenshot from @SimonLR who’s twitter says he’s tweeting from Nokia N9 and Nokia N9 Widget.

  • -WOW
  • -I’m just going to leave this tweet here and see what happens
  • -There’s home screen widgets
  • – This keyboard is spacious
  • -Ovi Store doesn’t work

Simon’s friend, @MikeMacias: says:

I don’t know if @SimonLR got his hands on N9 today but don’t think he’d kid. Simon resigned from @mobile_fanatics and TMF doesn’t have it

Those tweets aren’t up any more. But plenty of people have seen it. Twitter fault/masking?

update: The original batch of tweets still there, sent 13h ago (hence why not in recent block of tweets).

Additional details:

  • Nokia fans, save your money for the next few months
  • Android and iOS don’t have shit on this. Not even close

According to the screen shot this kinda looks like symbian but maybe with a Qt prototype UI..

Clicking on Nokia N9 widget leads us to ovi.com and clicking on N9 leads us to the n-series devices segment of nokia.com. rather strange. just a few moments ago it would lead me to the same page but say ‘ couldnt find the device’ or something like that. not happening anymore

The JPG is 360×640 , i think this is Symbian

    • December 10, 2010 at 1:48 pm

Isn’t the screenshot from someone else’s Gravity. As having gravity would already indicate it’s Symbian (@davidgilson it seems)

well yea. the pic is made from a symbian device look at the bottom bar

wohooooo i’m definitely saving money for the n9

  9. December 10, 2010 at 1:58 pm

    it’s because he’s fooling you all 🙂
i’ve read something about, that he was playing with twimgo on N900.
it’s not rocket science to tweak the twitter-client name over the API… 🙂

      that would make sense 🙂

      December 10, 2010 at 2:16 pm

why would he do that…? who would wana take that sort of a risk???
i think he twitted from the native N9 client….

Of course it no rocket science. but the thing is he seems like a credible guy. ive been following him on twitter for over an year now. He isnt the type of guy who would lie just for the heck of it. Plus DSmobile on mobile forum says
“he has some interesting friends then.

edit. funny thing is some of his friends in twitter. I know some of the folks and what they do. He actually might have seen the real thing ”

Its doubtful whether he had the N9 or not. plus he is nokia fan. so there could be bias in his UI judgment as well. we have to take all this with a bucket of salt

      It’s not the n9.

Oh why do I have a funny feeling that MeeGo will be nothing more than Android, and it won’t even fill in all the blanks that Android still has?
