Video: Poodle Loop with the New Nokia Music Loop App (Must have app! So much fun – get from the Ovi Store today)

On Monday there was supposed to be an all day event in London for the Nokia Loop App. That’s been postponed to January due to travelling difficulties.

On the upside, we still get a chance to see the Loop app in action! And you can download and give it a go yourself!

Record your voice. Record the dog. Record your friends on the bus. With Loop, you can turn anything into music. Pre-programmed with 9 baselines to get you started, recording your own music couldn ’t be easier. Available free to Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 owners.

This video shows the app in action! It’s from the official nokia YouTube channel goes live to the public tomorrow and won’t be listed for public viewing till then.

Have you ever seen beatboxers or other musicians on their own, live on stage create a whole band? Some form of looping is used. Here you can give that experience a go!

I’ve just had a go and it’s so fun! hahaha. And so easy to use 😀

Download it from Ovi Store Today!

It’s a nice 15.83MB in size – quite meaty ^_^.

I’m installing as we speak

i have to admit, i love nokia and the nokia n8, but they’re annoying me, they could be so great if they only would concentrate on important things, like a firmware thats worikng well, like good firmware updates and even more important they should work hard and fast to get us those updates. there are already custom firmwares out there which support 30fps video recording for the n8, why cant nokia do this by themselves?! why can’t they remove annoying things like “show open applications form” the option menu. instead they’re making useless apps like the above. they create strange things on beta labs its all fine and good but they really should get the more important jobs done first!

Have you used this thing? I’ll happily live with the “show open applications” if they keep making cool stuff like this. One hour later and i’m still having the most fun I’ve had in days.

Nokia have many different units working on different things. It is natural that something comes out randomly that may not be the most expected by certain people for specific need.

PR1.1 is pretty close to come out and be patient…

        > PR1.1 is pretty close to come out and be patient…

What’s the latest word or guess on when please? – before Christmas? Within a week? Or…?

Any ideas what it will add/fix?

This app just made my phone reboot. Otherwise, it’s excellent: I’ve already made amusing loops from one of my profs in class. Good times!

PR1.1 is better comming soon, and should better support 30fps video recording, otherwise i will be dissappointed! whats the point in having an “show open applications button” when you just can press the menu button long?? and the user manual is kinda unneeded too!

Hey I understand you want PR1.1 to come out soon. But if it came out and had bugs, I bet you would the first guy to complain. BE PATIENT! You also have to realize that just because you want something, doesnt mean the majority of people do. 30 FPS would be cool, but how much more battery life and memory would it take up? The 25 FPS it has right now looks amazing anyways. I would rather them work on the web browser before they work on 30 FPS. And quite frankly, I hope youre disappointed….nothing better than seeing a whiny brat not get what he wants.

The “show open application button” is there because it gives people another option of opening up the task manager. Not everyone knows that a long press on the menu button does the same thing. If you dont like the “show open application button” then dont use it….jeez.

Maybe you dont need the user manual, but im sure there are plenty of people who do use it. Just stop having that “me me me” mentality because it makes you sound childish.

Personally I found it’s a little bit faster to use “show open applications” button compared to the long press home button.

i agree with you but i think its just weird that some hackers can make 30fps work and nokia can’t

why are you so obsessed with 30fps? 25fps is perfect… I mean the video recording is no question the best in the business now… In my mind, 30fps can only waste more storage space.

To be fair, it’s Nokia who actually implemented the 30fps, what the hackers did is enable it. Same with the continuous autofocus.

(This is not to take away from the coolness that are custom ROMs)

It’s not that Nokia can’t do what hackers can do. It’s just that they didn’t want to do. They limited it purposely due to some technical reasoning, which always doesn’t make sense to common man without real knowledge of that field.

If Nokia is to release anything, it has to be 100% stable and compatible with everything. Those 3rd party hacks where you get 30fps recording might create files that are disproportionately large or have other unwanted effects on the device, such as disproportionate battery loss. Usually power users (such as yourself) don’t really care as you live as much for your phone as your phone should live for you. Charging it often and figuring stuff out doesn’t bother you and hardly even registers for you as extra work you have to do just to get something working.

I would also like faster updates to Symbian, but quite frankly Symbian has so much to fix that we’re all better off just waiting for MeeGo 8). SYmbian is a rock: everything works but everything’s also set in stone. Linux based OS’s: a stream.

i dont know, i just think it would be better for capturing fast movements! and maybe because of the spec sheet, even the iphone supports 30 fps (i know that the n8’s camera is way better!) but nokia once said that they may release an update which supports 30fps and i would be happy if they did.
