Nokia X7 leaked again

Oh what do we have here Eldar Murtazin has been leaking pictures of the Nokia X7 and this time in black, he has also promised a preview of the device in due time. Interestingly the X7 also has carrier branding in this case at&t. Find out after the break what Eldar has to say about the device….

First of all Eldar doesn’t like it (what a surprise)

He says it is a gaming oriented device. But the marketing department has failed as this device doesn’t say anything about music considering this is a music device. According to some shaky translation (I though this was a music device, I am confused???  the X series is a music oriented line if I am correct, so what has it got to do with gaming, but then again Nokia do need a gaming oriented device with the iPhone succeeding in that area and the PSP phone coming soon)

He says as it is, it is only a Nokia C7 and offers nothing new if you read between Eldar’s lines.

Now obviously it is too early to judge this device so I am going to reverse my judgement, but I have got to admit that I do like the Industrial look of this device as it is different to other handsets out there.

BTW Eldar has mentioned on twitter that Nokia doesn’t know when Meego will be ready for the market, which is worrying I have got to admit.

Honestly, I’m taking EVERYTHING he has to say with a pinch of salt.

I’m more interested in who the f keeps leaking him S^3 devices? Seeing how he hasn’t gotten any meego based devices in his hands (well, at least he hasn’t taken a pic of them -> pic or didn’t happen).

from his tweets it seems like he hasnt got his hands on a meego device yet.

it is IMPOSSIBLE that UI for N9 doesnt exist. One, we have already seen a preview of the possible MeeGo UI. two, Nokia intend to release at least one MeeGo device by end of 1st half (or 1st quarter) . So the UI is got be almost ready by now. otherwise we can forget the N9 for at leat an year. they cant get the software ready one day and annopunce the device the next day.

anyway he has confirmed the news that there are 2 meego based phones in works. N9 and N9-01.

According to him one is based on harmattan, the other one on meego.

No one of the outsiders has a chance to peek N9 as it is LOCKED in the lab!

        TOP SECRET by NOKIA!

So…… when is the planned release time?

dsmobile, member on mobile-review forums said that Nokia plans to release N9-00 and N9-01 at the same time.

And that N9-01 does not have QWERTY and looks very nice.

❤ you have given me hope alex68!

I'd say you can bang out a rough choice of two timelines if you have followed MeeGo's progress.

With PR1.2 ready in April and PR1.3 in October.

Being that Nokia havee previously stated H1 2011.. seems logical to me it will be out around June/July (pure speculation of course). Then once they've drummed up some PR for it in europe, BAM PR1.3 with support for American network standards. Although i'm not sure i saw mention of the american "4G" networks on the schedule?

mmmmm *drools* Q2 it is *pencils in diary*

hehe, my n95 finally bit the dust.. was due to be replaced with a pre-order i had of an n900 last year.. but had a nightmare with company called mobile phones direct, so cancelled my order out of spite ..

I have now got a £100 android phone which is doing the job for now (so i dont get stuck into any contracts whilst i wait for the N9)

Many Thanks Alex68.. I was fearing an October release with PR1.3 🙂

my real question though is this..

assuming this is then a “IN” Q2 device, are Nokia going to play the BIG risk card?

by that I mean the inevitable release scedule of the iphone5.

Will they push is out a couuple of weeks before shaming apple by releasing a better product than them, with posibly better tech (also running the risk of apple trumping them of course).

Or release just after, sometime in August and face an uphill struggling against the Apple PR machine?

            I hope it’s the former!

            Don\t milk me too much…

It is just the planed time but you know software release is one of the hardest to predict.

            December 8, 2010 at 4:24 pm

lol sorry, did not mean to milk .. you know what it’s like when you’ve got half of the answer right in front of you but you are very eager to piece them together.

Thanks for insight though dude 🙂

I shall carry on to ponder my many questions queitly 😀

Is Q2 a planned release time for N9-00 or N9-01?

Or do they come out at the same(relatively) time?

I guess N series is now Meegop only so gaming needs to go to the ‘entertainment’ line X series. Makes more sense than making up a whole new line for different case. 😉

The only think useful here is the pics. Anyone listening to a word Eldar writes is as big a fool as him.

You guys listening to anything Eldar says are like the battered wife who hopes her husband will stop beating her. And that’s not funny.

Ow, come on now. The man has a certain hatred against Nokia and does seem biased towards other brands. However, he does have some stuff that is clearly true, but in the end it is down to yourself to filter the info.

Either way, I like it to see some more pics of the X7. Regarding the N9, we’ll see. No lack of hype around it any way you put it. I’ll just say that there will be an MWC announcement early 2011, just read this post again at that time. 😉

That’s weird because everyone else on this thread is saying Eldar’s a liar and wrong, on just about everything, as always happens.

Honestly I don’t know why this blog posts news from Eldar, it’s just bullshit from start to finish. More fool anyone that believes him. He’s out to stir up shit, and you guys fall for it.

@Jay: Sorry to hear for you

And about the N9 and SW:

The way I see that tweet: Harmattan is somewhat ready, but if MeeGo looks to make it early 2011 we won’t see Harmattan on the N9.
If MeeGo fails to meet the deadline in early 2011 (SW wise) than it will be just the N9 with Harmattan on it.

I can tell you from now that this is not true. I think this is pure ELdar opinion based on what was written on other blogs, forums.
There will be no Harmattan device 100% sure, and the only reason is because it will not be meego compliant , therefore will be more like N900, a nice device that will not receive updates, because they will focus more on meego. not to mention they need to add a special category in ovi store just for this one. also the software need recompiled when meego appear. It will create only confusion and frustration among the users, and this is the last thing nokia needs right now.
In my opinion nobody knows(not even Nokia) when the N9 will be released because nobody know how good meego 1.2 will be when it’s finish. a better answer will be more in end of february begining of march when meego 1.2 enters in beta stage.
I can only hope that will be a stable version in terms of end user and in this case they will release it by the end of Q2(best time).

sure there is UI for N9 but it just very limited people who actually knows it. Good for them and good for Nokia 🙂

Harmattan / Meego 1.x or what ever does not matter anyway for consumer. They wont notice what is there. UI is not depending of that or the apps.

I am also sure that someone at Nokia knows when it will be ready. =))

Come on people it is just Murtazin wining, what do you excpect anyway?
I’ve told you the story before, he doesn’t have real information, so he thinks it on out basing on rumors. There are much more informed people in Russia, you just don’t follow them on twitter 🙂

      as far as i know
      N= multimedia

thats why we c the epic camera on the N8 and not an x device(along with the N8s other capabilities)

Quite an ugly handset. But so are most of Motorolas and HTC:s so maybe this will sell well in the US (if AT&T branding implies it’s the US specific operator subsidised Nokia)

    alex68 :

Marko Ahtisaari made a comment today that MeeGo UI will be revealed in 2011.

While Eldar has a friend that has access to proto HW/SW, I highly doubt that he has seen the MeeGo version to be released in coming months although he claims differently. Otherwise he would have send the pictures to everybody just piss off Nokia. This guy is pure BS all the way!

I cant see elop letting that happen. His key goal was to reduce time between annoucement and release. Given that April is the scheduled date for completion of PR1.2 then I can’t see them releasing a device alongside it?

Would be nice to think it’s April release though, here’s hoping!

But given the announcements likley to occur at MWC (sammys new dual core flagship, PSPhone, LG’s new dualy, Motorola’s dual core Droid “Terminator”), they would really need to go ballistic with the Marketing.

    Somehow, I doubt that.

Why would Nokia release their Meego phone right in the tornado of the Apple PR machine and the major media outlets pitching the iPhone 5?
    I’m guessing it’ll be a holiday season release, i.e Q4 ’11.

April,May and June all belong to Q2 timeframe.
