Video :@Nimbuzz 3.0 for Symbian (demoed on the Nokia N8) IM/Chat/VoIP

Nimbuzz is one of those must-install applications for Symbian. It allows you to add all your IM clients so you can chat and even call (if service applicable) from your phone. You can even make Nimbuzz Out calls to standard landline or mobile numbers.

What I also love about Nimbuzz is that it looks after my contacts. Having trusted it with a password it just knows to bring up the services I’ve already used with Nimbuzz. (There’s also worldwide chatrooms that you could join)

Here’s the Symbian^3 version demoed on the Nokia N8 giving an overview of the new Nimbuzz. Really liking the file send feature over chat.

  • Customizable tabs: select which tabs you want to see and in what order.
  • NimbuzzOut call rates are displayed in real time below the number before placing the call.
  • Recent calls tab: see all your received, missed and outgoing calls.
  • 2 new chat styles: with avatars and without.
  • 3 options to view the Contact List.
  • Sort contacts by status.
  • My info tab: gives you quick access to your profile, NimbuzzOut credits, accounts,  suggested friends and friend invites.
  • Facebook Connect: removes the 400 contacts limit and connectivity issues.

    Off topic

when i get thenew nokia n8, the first thing to do is to fully charge it? Or use it until the batteryrun out then fully charge it? Which one is the correct way? Help me out, i am confused

when i say fully charge, should it mean that until we see the message which says batteryis fully charged

someone says lithium ion batterydoes not need to be charged overnight for the first time, is he right?

And what advice you can give me about the charging tips? Thanks

I know…it used to be. I remember making skype calls via nimbuzz.

With N8 battery no need to condition.

and as far as official client is concerned i found this

      “Hello !

Some clarification on Skype for Symbian^3 devices like N8:

Current public client available on Skype and OVI won’t work correctly since Symbian^3 has some changes in connectivity and UI areas and we need to make a new version for it.

Skype for Symbian client development is ongoing and we will release a new client soon(soon is before Christmas if there won’t be any problems with S^3 )

New client will support newer S^3 devices and freshly released v3 and v5 models.
Client will have a lot of UI improvements(as far as Symbian UI stack allows us )
and call quality will be greatly improved.
Don’t expect something revolutionary in this release, the exiting stuff is reserved for next year and newer Nokia phones like N8 and such, which finally have the power to do what Skype users want.

      Best regards,
      VadimR ”

Disappointing that there is no app for N8 that would support Ovi Chat (XMPP). Can’t find one at least.

I don’t get it. Tried to install Numbuzz to connect to Google Talk, but it requires to make Nimbuzz account for that. I don’t need one. Back to my Pidgin which doesn’t require any such stuff.
