Lee Williams steps down as head of Symbian, replaced by Tim Holbrow

We wanted to let you know the news that Lee Williams has stepped down from his role as Executive Director at Symbian and has been replaced by Tim Holbrow with immediate effect.

We have a statement that might be of interest to you from Steve Warner, Head of HR at Symbian

The Symbian Foundation is today announcing that Lee M. Williams has stepped down from his position as Executive Director for personal reasons. We thank Lee for his work over the past two years and wish him all the best in his future ventures.

The Board of Directors has appointed Tim Holbrow, formerly the Symbian Foundation’s CFO, to the position of Executive Director with immediate effect. We congratulate Tim and welcome him to his new role.’

    Former CFO takes over the role? Hope it is just for a transition period. Symbian Foundation needs leadership by a talent who has a technology background.

    I think this is great news, the point being it shows action, and a determination to sort things out. Some people will see it negatively, but it is absolutely positive. There was a problem, it’s been dealt with and Symbian will change up a gear. Everything is on track.
