Nokia N8 Available on Amazon.com (USA)

20 minutes ago, N8 wasn’t on Amazon. Eagle eyed Kevin Siebens (thanks for the tip to tips@mynokiablog.com) noticed that now the Nokia N8 Black, Silver and Green are available.

Interestingly it’s shipping estimate is “1-2 months” and priced at $549 – around 340GBP

Amazon UK also has the N8 at the standard preorder price of 420GBP. This is of course SIM free (approx 20% more expensive than standard pay and go price)

you can even order it from amazon and ship it to a border crossing postal office (there’s a lot of them) they’ll give you a US Address to use for your US orders and charge you a few dollars handling fee to ship it to you

I heard that you have to go to that US borderline city and pick up the parcel for yourselves? Is it true? Or do these guys send it where you live? Coz I’m pretty far up in the North.

no they forward your packages to you with whichever service you want (usps, fedex, ups)

you only get charged the 1 fee for them providing this service (with some companies, here in BC, they’ll even drive it over to you)

            Alright! Thanks Stylinred!

But one more question, if you don’t mind. Doesn’t Amazon.com ship only selected products outside of US? If so, will they actually ship N8?
Or does it not matter since the other guys will be sending it to me?

They have listed on Amazon for a while now, but the prices are high-ish because these are the ones straight from Nokia, not sold by Amazon themselves. (This is also why the shipping window is listed to be so long) We still have to wait a bit until Amazon gets their own stock.

Ah never mind, I was mistaken – it is the Amazon stock. I hope the price does drop soon then!

It’s basic supply and demand factors people. Being a global launch, give it some time till the prices come down.

    Amazon UK is 420GBP.

whats with 329GBP at tesco direct? (not available at the moment)
Is this unlock? or on contract for #_ months?

I guess buyers from tesco will have to wait for considerably long time. I don’t think tesco is able to deliver N8 at that price so soon, say within 1 month or 2 month at least.

The predicative price is too speculative. I have said something like this many times. If people can’t afford for N8, there will be cheaper models coming. I don’t see the reason why Nokia would cut its price so aggressively for no reason.

Only time will tell and we all see.

i guess that n8 must be cheaper at amazon.m i right?
