Attendance Register: Nokia World 2010: WOMWorld/Nokia Meet – Are you going?

London. It’s only two weeks away.

On the 13th of September 2010, WOMWorld/Nokia (offices at Piccadilly Circus pretty much) will be hosting the biggest get together of Nokia Mobile Geeks from around the world as a pre-party get together for the biggest, most important Nokia World to date on the 14th and 15th September 2010 (which is simultaneously partnered with the Nokia Developer Summit for even more Nokia goodness!)

Click here for the Agenda details

This year’s Nokia World will see arguably Nokia’s best offerings in terms of smartphones to date – ones that are actually decent enough to compete with high ends from other manufacturers. We haven’t really had something like that since the N95/N82.

But possibly even cooler for me is just the insane amount of Nokia blogger folk that will be attending and that I’ll get to meet. We can’t really guarantee Nokia would do this again for the next NW in 2011.

Comment below if you’re going to Nokia World 2010 or the pre WOMWorld/Nokia Meet or both. The WOMWorld/Nokia meet unlike Nokia World does not need a ticket! So come along if you’re free on the 13th Sept.

Attendees so far

(that I’m aware of, will update)

  • Axel – Blog-N97.fr, Blog-N8.fr – @idela
  • Baptiste – SymbianFrance, MeeGo France – @baptmarla
  • Clinton Jeff – ZOMGitsCJ
  • Dan Carter – World Of Nokia

  • Paul Grayburn – Nokia Users – @MrGrayburn
  • Rafe Blandford -All About Symbian – @AAS/@RafeBlandford
  • Richard Dorman @Sheridano1
  • Sergejs Cuhrajs @_Nexus

That’s all I’m aware of at the moment. But I found this much longer list from Dan Carter.

Oh hey, Mr Burland is coming! Yay! Along with Gerry Moth, Devin Balentina, Ibrahim Jogee, Dani, Jon Choo, Ben Smith and Roman Sweigler whom I have also previously met (Nirave, Mark, Rafe, Sergejs, Michael Hell too – any sign of Steve Litchfield?). Can’t wait to catch up with the 1000heads/WOMWorld Team – Donna, Katie, Lydia, Adam, Frank, Mike, Paul, Robbie, Whatley and more! Looking forward to meeting many more new people! Like Chris Davies from Slash Gear, Jade, Amir, CJ and Micky Aldridge as well as speaking to the Nokia Reps/Managers during the official Nokia World 2010 event.

A few months ago on twitter, there were tons of discussions about a huge get together of Nokia Geeks for Nokia World, perhaps even the day before if we can’t get tickets. I hoped for it, but I didn’t think it would actually happen. Awesomeness!

      August 31, 2010 at 6:40 pm

  13. Flufo
    August 31, 2010 at 7:50 pm

uhh ohhh i’m cuming too, it’s me Flufo from “mygaynokiablog”.
I write day and night about nokias and all sorts of mobile phones cause I simply love mobile phones.

I love horny bloggers all over the world and love to get my butt screwed @ public toilets. I hope there will be lot’s happening and not all of us screwing eachothers up the asses in toilets, else we miss the important infos to chat about later on the toilets.

I will wear a yellow hat and ray ban sunglases and wear a bulgari watch. I will be easy to spot my dear nokia friends.

    so long – looking forward!

        August 31, 2010 at 11:45 pm

C’mon, let the boy stay. If that ranting is enough to keep him from slashing his wrists in a failed suicide attempt – because he is too afraid to tell his mom and dad, who he still lives with, he uses the iPhone 4, he finally got for b’day, to film the neighbour’s kids play at their backyard – it may be worth it. He may at some point be brave enough to look within and find his inner self wanting. Now that would be the first step on his path to being a normally functioning person.

On the other hand sick trolls are sick and need to be put down.

Hey, its the one and only, Steve! Great to see you here 🙂

Will you be live blogging from Nokia World or would you just give an update at the end of the day?

      • Andre

And Man, you guys are getting HUGE! This blog is growing like crazy! I remember when we would hardly have 5 comments on each posts and now you get like 35+ almost every time. 100+ in some of them! Keep up the work 🙂

regarding the swype, finally virtual qwerty on n97!

it works great on capacitive screen, nokia nokia have made a big mistake byusing resistive on n97 flagshit

    • GordonH
      September 1, 2010 at 5:52 pm

Nokia made too many mistakes on the N97.

    • alex68
      September 1, 2010 at 8:50 pm

I think Apple patented multi touch screen for mobile phones. Nokia tried to avoid using it. But finally Nokia realized it can not avoid it anymore at a high price…

      • alex68
        September 1, 2010 at 9:06 pm

Of course, Symbian 1 doesn\t support multi touch. Nokia r&d research center has had a multimedia group many years ago but it has never produced anything meaningful. In my opinion, the whole group people should be fired and nokia should hire new talents.

  20. September 3, 2010 at 12:55 am

    Andre :

Wish I lived in the UK so I could meet these people.

Hopefully Nokia will fly you over some time 😀 A lot of folk coming aren’t UK based.

BTW, if you get to play with the N8, can some one test out what happens when you pull out the headphones? or disconnect a blue tooth headset?

I am not sure if ForYourEarsOnly will be updated for S^3. (http://code.google.com/p/bergamot/wiki/ForYourEarsOnly)

    • mj
      September 3, 2010 at 4:40 pm

      *Bluetooth*

    • September 5, 2010 at 4:14 pm

I think in a firmware update on N97 a while ago the headphone and bt headset disconnection pauses music. Much like the headset daemon for Maemo 5. Will check for you if no one has that info by the time I get some N8 time again.
