Did not find free one from Ovi store. This feature might be battery consuming concerned.

To save battery, N8 is aware of idle very efficient and puts phone to standby status very quickly. This can be annoying sometimes.

LoL I’m already dead set on getting the N8 at as my next phone. Getting it mainly cause of the xenon flash, camera and maybe cause i’m used to the symbian OS.. Though i havn’t been through the hell of the N97~ XD

I guess the only trouble i have is with deciding on getting the white or the black one. Since the ends are made out of plastic, i’m concern that the white one migt get stained yellowish easilly~

no plastic, please. It uses gorilla glass, the strongest glass in the world. Recently there was “a test” that N8 accidantally dropped from 3 meter high balcony and it survived with just a few scratches.

The rest is made of aluminium。 The prototype I have played for about 1 month doesn\t have any scratches. It has been in many hands for some time already.

I think he’s talking about the TOP AND BOTTOM of the N8. They ARE made of plastic. Thats the part where the HDMI out and other things are.

Btw John, If you dont want to bore people, may be you should make a post about the Nokia Box event which will be held on August 17 (thats day after tomorrow!). May be they’ll announce a MeeGo phone and/or Release date for Nokia? Here’s the link:
And not to mention, the mysterious #NokiaBox? Nokia is planning to do something big on August 17th. Only a few bloggers have got the invitation. Here’s the link for that too:

And Also there’s the X3-02 leaked on the web, why haven’t you made a post about it yet?

ok, i did not read carefully…

But for silver (I assume it is the “white”) color, the top and end use black plastic. I think all color models should have the same black color.

I guess that the plastic ends are mainly for the sake of good antenna reception and signal.

I don’t think they will announce meego phone. if we got lucky we might see it at nokia world, if not than probably at meego conference in november

In nokia world, Nokia must show sth very big and impressive to convince developers to make move to qt development for meego and symbian again…

i predict nokia will continue to lose market share thuis year because their flagship n8 and meego are only affordable in next year after half a year from the n8 relaese date which apparently ship to all countries in november

nokia can survive, so we dont care,

No,cant agree. Think in this way.

Nokia low end-and old model phones fight/gain the market shares in emerging markets and N8 fights the margin for high end. Next year when N8 is becoming cheaper that is affordable, Nokia should have released new high-end phones ie Symbian 4 & Meego phones. Nokia will be in really good position then.

I don’t believe Apple is able to release any new phones leap over iphone4. ios4 has a lot trouble that apple needs at least half year to clean up the big mess.

As for Android, now google is in big trouble with patent infringement suit by Oracle. According to my knowledge and source, oracle has a very strong case. The future of Android is in a big question. It will hurt all the Android phone makers. This is a really big inccident!

the N8 is already priced far cheaper than the Iphone4 in many markets so I can’t see the N8 NOT doing well on the matter of Price; the only way they can fail is Marketing which they don’t really have in North America

The iphone front view always look the similar! There are not much room for iphone design! If they enlarge the screen size fill out the front view, that will be cool! No it is not possible! Only meego phone can do so
