Nokia N8 Coming soon to T-Mobile [UK], due October 2010 [update, apologies, wrong T-Mobile]

Nokia N8 coming soon in October on T-Mobile Website.

On the T-Mobile USA, The Nokia N8 is listed as Coming soon, due October 2010. No price plans suggested.

I’m glad the Nokia N8 has scored at least one American network so far. This should mean some decent subsidized prices with contract for your Nokia N8, American readers. No more having to buy unlocked as networks shun some great Nokia devices. Cheers T-Mobile.

Huge apologies guys! I thought I had clicked onto T-Mobile USA, this is T-Mobile UK. 😦 That Glaring iPhone 4 that’s At&t exclusive for some reason did not register. My Bad.

Thanks for the heads up in the comments mrbean.

In France, The Phone House has listed N8 as coming soon.

In UK, Vodafone has the N8 also coming soon for a while

In UK, Carphone Warehouse has the Nokia N8 as coming soon for September

Wow, go Nokia and thank you T-Mo for picking up what I am *hoping* is the first step Nokia is taking to get off the joker path they have been on for a little while now!

Almost makes me want to get a T-Mobile plan, haha. But then, I could use my N900 and have 3G. Hrm…could swap SIMs….oh dear, have to stop that line of thinking!

If that image is real, then that means iPhone is coming to T-mobile USA too?

    • July 9, 2010 at 6:54 am

Shhhh. I’m hoping the image is real for the N8, not the iPhone 4. 🙂

Are you sure this is T-Mobile USA? Because the screen shot above is showing the T-Mobile UK site, not the US site.

Yeah, huuuuge apologies all. I got mixed up…ha, no sleep and hangover blogging.

This is T-Mobile UK. That glaring iPhone did not register as At&t exlusive. stupid me.

It’s the TMO UK site for sure that this pic was taken from.
Don’t see anything on the US site.
ALTHOUGH*** The leaked roadmap points to the release of a Nokia phone some time in the near future. http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2010/07/07/t-mobile-second-half-2010-roadmap-leaked/

I’m assuming the “Nokia” on the roadmap stands for the E73 that was just released…sad to not see any more “Nokia”s on the map!

Wondering if they would force you to get a data plan like they do with other smart phones?

If it is true I would like to upgrade keeping my existing plan(includes grandfathered data plan)

Still no news about NZ. I’ll probably have to get it from a parallel importer, although I hate doing that since they’re terrible if there are any issues.

If Vodafone or Telecom do offer it here, they’ll mark it up by at least 50% (just like the n95 and n97). =( I do wish Nokia would open just one store and sell phones directly to their customers!

OMG that’s Q4.. I wonder how big a hit Nokia’s stock is going to take next week when they announce Q2 figures and the delay of N8 till Q4. How much lower can it go as there’s already been speculation about a hostile take-over?

    • July 9, 2010 at 9:14 am

      That’s only T-Mobile direct UK.

It’s still coming September for Carphone Warehouse.
Also, it could still be released before that via Nokia in August (CPW get it a little later than most places)

        July 9, 2010 at 9:43 am

I’m pessimistic but will be very happy if you turn out to be right 🙂

There’s that usual “subject to change without notice”-disclaimer on CPW’s site and the guys in my local CPW of course had nothing to say.

I might get my hands on a proto next week *fingers crossed*..

        • July 9, 2010 at 9:47 am

I’ve learnt that asking your local CPW guy on upcoming devices is like going to a 5 year old and asking them to explain quantum physics.

There are also other retailers out there that would probably get N8 before CPW. Over past couple of years, CPW has dropped to being the number 1 place to get Nokias (due to iPhone and lack of exciting Nokia products)

Hope you get your N8 hands on 🙂 Where abouts is your demo?

Actually I know an external dev and the devs seem to have the N8:s already..

        July 9, 2010 at 9:57 am

Hmm so you reckon that the carriers release it a tad bit later because it takes them some time to modify the firmware and lock up the phones? I.e. unlocked would be released earlier? Maybe it is Sep after all.

        • July 9, 2010 at 10:05 am

Different carriers and different retailers will release Nokia phones at different times in the UK. Unlocked phones too as they’re not carrier bound.

It’s confusing, but that’s the situation here.
