Nokia Tablet Rumours

Rumours of Nokia’s tablet are rife with Digitimes reporting a tablet form Nokia imminent in the fourth quarter of this year. Eldar the famous Nokia leakemeister revealed earlier today that such rumours are sort of true and Jay posted blog post earlier which you can read here.

As I was going through the my timeline on Twitter I found a familiar tweet from eldar in russian but I found the familar word Nokia in it, so decided to check it out using google translate and found some interesting snippets from the so called Nokia tablet

Some of the highlights of the piece included

  • Design reminiscent  of the Nokia N8
  • It has a USB connector
  • release first quarter of 2011
  • release in limited number of markets to reduce cost
  • could be similar priced to the booklet 3G in Russia at least (hope not booklet 3G is expensive)
  • carrier subsidised
  • Apparently it doesn’t offer anything “new”
  • Supposedly will be announced alongside Nokia N9 in mid September( I am guessing Nokia World )

Some interesting things discussed in the post and you can also read it here

Let me know what you think of a possible Nokia tablet in the comments and you can also follow me on twitter to leave comments @jwf90

Eldar is saying it is going to be 15 to 20% cheaper than Booklet 3G. Good price point is hardware is decent. He says “its nothing special” vis a vis Ipad which clearly indicates it far exceeds it, knowing his recent history of appraisal.
