Video: Video Call and Skype Chat on the Nokia N900

You know the tech have been talking about Nokia’s decline for a long time with the iPhone and Android innovating in certain areas but especially this week when Steve Jobs unveiled iPhone 4 with a certain feature that we are all so familiar with here in Europe for what it feels like forever.

The feature of course is Video calling rather the ridiculous name of “FaceTime”. Now `Video calling has been a rather ancient technology in Nokia’s phones and I would like to remember the folks on this planet how great the Nokia N900 really is with this video underneath.

Whenever I see the Nokia N900 I feel like …. man what could have been if Nokia actually committed itself to it, it started of really well with advertising in Newspaper and tube stations and it had all the promise in the world but Nokia being Nokia decided to switch focus. Now lets hope the Meego effort will be what the N900 should have been all a long, and make the media (mainly form the USA)  eat their words.

I still find the Nokia N900 the most underrated device on the market, and to me I think it is under loved by the media then again with iPhone 4 you could give an Island to tech journalists and they still wouldn’t say a positive thing about Nokia and the N900

hopefully the Nokia N8 and N9 will change all of that…just thought…if these are both released this year…it really will be an expensive year for me!!!

I use my video calls through google video calls to make and recieve via computer or mobile device and works the same as skype rather on wifi or Tmobile 3g service here in the states. I love it and quite nice espically using a bluetooth

It would be expensive year if Nokia did release the N8 and N9 considering that i only recently bought my Nokia e72 then again the smartphone world never stands still

Nokia is not advertising n900 because it’s a geek-phone. It’s just too complicated for end users. Hopefully n9 – the meego phone will change that. At least they are saying. 5th step of 5.

Skype on my N900 doesn’t seems to be working. I enter the login info, click ok and it goes back to VoIP and IM accounts section where it states “Not Signed In”. Any suggestions?
