fMMS 1.0.0 for N900 released

Update: The latest and final one stop shop for all your questions regarding fMMS can now be found at my new blog (thetekblogger.com), the post can be found here: http://thetekblogger.com/2010/05/27/fmms-1-x-for-nokia-n900-f-a-q/
Please direct any questions to the comments section on the above post

I’m sure a lot of you have seen my video walkthrough’s (April 2010 & January 2010) for the previous versions of fMMS, well today frals (developers of fMMS) has released version 1.0.0 which also gives reason to graduate it from extra’s development to extra’s testing (will be done soon – currently still in devel).

for more info see frals official blog: http://blog.frals.se/

With the latest version, if you use the application is “Havoc” mode, you do not need to install any additional software like in previous versions where fAPN was required. Now just install and enter the settings into the fMMS application directly! For a quick guide, see the screenshots below:

New fMMS update to version 1.0.0

Installation size (This is for update, new installation may be more)

Update details (Currently in the Extras-Devel Catalogue but will be moving to testing soon)

Select configuration to change settings (when you first start it, this will load up automatically)

Enter your mobile number including the country code
(i.e. +44 in the UK & remove the first 0, for example 07123456789 becomes +447123456789)

Use your own settings above, I am on o2 UK (postpay)
For settings for your phone see my previous post or the Maemo Wiki post

The above is the advanced configuration options which you should not need to touch

Has anyone got this working on a N900 on Vodafone?
If yes can you send me your settings. Have banged in the settings as detailed here and elsewhere and get a failure message!
    Current config settings are:
    APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
    Username: wap
    Password: user
    Proxy: 212.183.137.12
    Proxy Port: 8799
    MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms

So not sure where the issue is?

    Cheers Roy

I have a N900 and want to use FMMS. I am on o2 contract but do not have web included. I used to be able to send MMS message free the same as texts on my N95. Can FMMS be setup to use the standard o2 network as before or do i need to buy the extra option for web access? I connect to the web at home and work using our home Hub or work WAP’s.

    Many thanks
